How did the Interprofessional Visit in Cardiology (IVC)  impact different healthcare workers and  learners as an interprofessional educational initiative?

Summary of Work

*      Weekly interprofessional meetings involving healthcare professional, residents and students from different health area courses were held between April and May 2013

*      After a brief explanation about one in hospital patient, each professional commented about their specific assistance and interface with others professionals. The students and resident were encouraged to participate.

*      The participants answered a semi-structured questionnaire.

Summary of Results

We had 63 participants and obtained 46 responses. They were physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, nutricionists, physiotherapists, social workers, pharmacists, medical students, medical and multiprofessional residents (picture 1). The majority considered that the specific discussion contributed greatly with learning or professional development and 100% felt motivated to study further the discussed cases (figure 1) .
