Background

Importance of e-learning in higher education !

  • Students are free to learn at their own pace
  • Immediate feedback
  • Stimulation of clinical reasoning of students
Summary of Work

1. Development of a 'flow'

2. Development of the online module

3. Experiment for students (n = 50)

4. Evaluation of module

  • Test & Questionnaire
  • Availability of module for all students (n = 350)

Summary of Results

No difference in test result between the two groups (ANOVA).

More positive attitude towards the module and perceived as 'easu to use' (Questionnaire).

Conclusion

Despite the positive attitude towards the module and the perceived user friendliness, no difference in learning outcome was measured. Studying the structured bundle possibly resulted in a learning effect comparable to this acquired while working with the module.

Take-home Messages

Online learning modules are an attractive tool for students to gain knowledge in an interactive way.
